Mac –Stuck Applications
Sometimes your Mac can get stuck due to programs being open despite your closing them down via the usual X icon.
This can be due to errors in the system but easily resolved.
First you will notice that if an application is open on the Mac you will see the dock indicate which programs are open by a small symbol under each one (see example below).
Despite your bringing each to main screen and closing again they persist is showing as open.
Simply click the Apple logo at the top of the screen and click to select the application that is open and then click Force Quit.
The list of open Applications will show.
Click the application that is stuck and click the Force Click button. You will need to confirm you want to close it.
Repeat for any others in the list except Finder which is really the mac system window you are using.
Then Close the Mac down or Restart, from the Apple menu but, be sure that the box marked ‘Reopen windows when logging back in’ is NOT TICKED otherwise all your open programs will open again after you restart.
Many applications if in this state of being open but not visible may not run properly and often fail to register changes in your work when saving.
This should solve your problem.
