Using Cortana for reminders. Did you know you can tell Windows 10’s new search tool -Cortana to remind you? As long as you type or say ‘Remind me’ at the start of your sentence it will set up a reminder and do the thing requested. For example saying or typing “Remind me to call the bank again in 10 minutes” will set up a prompt to remind you. You will have to confirm that Cortana has it correctly understood to finally set the reminder by saying YES. At the given time, a reminder panel will flash onto your screen. This can be useful to make on the fly reminders and save losing those scraps of paper on your desk and forgetting to do it.

If you are using Windows 10 you will notice the new search box on the bottom bar of your screen. This is called Cortana. If it’s not already set up you can turn on Cortana which is the new search engine for Windows. You can type anything into that box to find it on your computer or via the web. The fun bit is to use voice commands with Cortana. To do this you must have it turned ON in Settings. The easiest way to get there is to just type ‘Cortana’ into the search window then click System settings when it appears on the top of the menu Once in there slide the button to ON.   This is only possible if your language and time settings are correct. For example if your time zone is Spain you will not get Cortana to work as it is not available
