Change Windows 8 from a Microsoft account to a Local account If your Windows 8 PC causes issues when logging in with your Microsoft password and you would rather not have this feature, you can turn your account into a Local Account, which does not require a sign in. This can useful if you keep forgetting your Microsoft password and you being locked out of your account. Sign in to Windows 8, and then navigate to PC Settings.
